Bill Cafferata – Program Director, Head Coach
Coach Cafferata is a graduate of Montville Township High School in Montville, NJ where he played three years of varsity lacrosse as a FOGO/SSDM. During undergrad, he played college football at The College of New Jersey in the fall and coached middle school lacrosse at Princeton Day School in the spring. After some time in NYC advertising sales, Coach Cafferata moved to Austin to follow his passion of teaching and coaching and earned his masters degree in education from Texas State University. He began coaching in Austin for Lake Travis Youth Lacrosse and quickly became their director of coaching. During that time, Coach Cafferata coached teams at every youth level and won the Cy Fair Fall Classic in 2010 with a 5/6 grade team. He spent the 2013 spring season as the head coach for Vista Ridge High School before becoming the head coach at Dripping Springs High School in the fall of that year. In his first two seasons, the team won 22 games, made it to the D2 super regional both years, and were the 2015 regular season D2 Central champions. In his third season, the team made the jump from D2 to D1 and earned a spot in the district playoffs with a 9-7 record. Coach Cafferata started the ATX Jammers in the summer of 2013 and they are currently the longest tenured travel lacrosse team in the city of Austin. In just their second season, the ATX Jammers won the 2014 Texas Draw HS A division and earned a bid to nationals at IMG Academy in Florida. In 2016, they won the Southwestern Open U15 division and finished in 3rd place at IMG Nationals.
Cody Gould – HS Offensive Assistant
Coach Gould is a 2011 graduate of Mount Hebron HS in Howard County, Maryland where he played four years of varsity lacrosse. He was a 2x 1st team All-County player and received a scholarship to play Division I lacrosse at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. He appeared in every game he was able despite suffering a season ending injury at the beginning of his sophomore campaign. He finished his career at Canisius with 14 goals and 3 assists while being named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team 3 consecutive times. Coach Gould graduated from Canisius in May 2015, and is now continuing his academic career at Texas State University where he is a Graduate Instructional Assistant and working towards his Masters degree in Communication Training and Development. Last summer Coach Gould was an assistant coach to the HoCo Lax (Howard County) 2018 high school club team. The team finished its tournament season in the top 3 of each tournament and winning Hogan Lax Hersey.
Curtis Fellenz – HS Defensive Assistant
Coach Fellenz is a 2010 graduate of Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, CA where he was a founding member and a captain of the school’s lacrosse team. Coach Fellenz continued his playing career at UC Davis in California, where he successfully transitioned from midfield to close defense with some experience as an LSM. He graduated in 2014 and became an assistant coach for UC Davis for the 2014-2015 season and was also the head coach for the Sacramento Aces lacrosse club in the summer of 2015. He returned to school in August of 2015 to pursue his Master’s degree in Exercise Science at Texas State while working as a Graduate Instructional Assistant. Still having some eligibility, Coach Fellenz resumed his playing career and joined the Texas State team where he made the move to LSM, lead the team in ground balls, and played an integral part in the team’s run to the conference championship game. Coach Fellenz was named an MCLA Scholar Athlete (Academic All-American) this year and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Grayson Glass – Youth Offensive Assistant
Coach Glass is a 2015 graduate of Dripping Springs High School where he played four years of varsity lacrosse. He earned all district honors as midfielder for a team that won the regular season D2 district championship in central Texas. He just finished his freshman year of college at Texas A&M where he played midfield for their MCLA team. He coached youth lacrosse while still in high school and he is entering his second year of coaching for the ATX Jammers.
Harrison Dance – Youth Defensive Assistant
Coach Dance is a 2015 graduate of Dripping Springs High School. He started on varsity all four years, was team captain and team defensive MVP in both his junior and senior year, was named All-District defense as a junior, and All-State defense as a senior. After his senior year, Coach Dance received an invite to play in the inaugural Texas All-Star Roundup. He continues to play lacrosse as an LSM at the University of Arkansas where he started as a freshman. Coach Dance has coached youth lacrosse since 2011 for various age groups and is in his second season as defensive assistant for the ATX Jammers.
